BACKGROUND
It’s fashion, it’s glamour: It’s Moda Magazine. Moda is an intersectional Life & Style publication based out of Madison, Wisconsin. As a majority student-led org, it’s a pillar of the campus community, partnering with local vendors to host the annual UW Fashion Week and maintaining an online blog.
I began my journey with Moda in 2020 as the Arts Editorial Assistant, where I soon grew into the role of Arts Editor. The following year, I accepted the position of Deputy Editor, during which I led and oversaw all aspects of the publication process and editorial management alongside our Editor in Chief.

UNVEILING VIRTUE AND VICE
In spring 2022, I proposed something different: A dual-issue to reflect both the wonders and the unknowns of a newly post-pandemic world. This brought us to Virtue/Vice, a dissection of the juxtaposing yet intertwined sides of morality. I co-led the editorial & artistic direction for this issue.

For each of the following publications, I contributed written and/or illustrative content and gave input on the overall direction — creative brainstorming, mood boards, imagery, proofing.

As Deputy, I supported Moda’s growth and social reach by creating various promotional graphics and illustrations for social media. Between 2021-22, our Instagram profile @modamadison gained 400+ new followers.
